Main Focus of the Conference

The main focus is aimed at presentation of achieved results, presentation of realized tasks and information about road maps and work-in-progress reports in the area of healthcare informatics and telematics.

Programme Structure

Session A: e-Health Systems for General Practitioners and Ambulatory Specialists
Ambulatory information systems (= ambulatory SW) are standard tools of medical offices and surgeries in the Czech Republic at present. Current priority and future goals are extension of functionalities, allowing development of future comprehensive electronic health records, and connection in an efficient network providing safe and secure patient data exchange with the ultimate goal to perform safe and high quality health services.

Other important issues are: data exchange with health insurance companies (in particular billing system); patient ordering system; remote software upgrade; data interface for communicating encrypted structured medical reports; interfaces of ambulatory SW to assistive technologies for remote on-line monitoring of patient health state.

Session B: Assistive Technology in Healthcare
The session is focused on the assistive technology demonstrators. Target user groups are both elderly and impaired persons, which are profiting from advanced technology allowing better and safer life in their home environment, fostering rehabilitation, monitoring after operation treatment. Possibility of return to professional life as well as improvement of home and social care can imply increased economic efficiency. Additional topics: Identification of persons, reports, prescriptions, equipment; security and data privacy in ID systems.

Session C: eHealth in the frame of European and international cooperation
eHealth in the frame of European and international cooperation
The session aims to present current "state of art" in the field of eHealth in the frame of European and international cooperation with respect to the eHealth priorities of EU member states presidency. New eHealth programmes and initiatives in the frame of European and international cooperation for the period 2014 – 2020 will be presented.

Session D: Standards in HIS
The session is focused on current status and problems of implementation of international, European and national standards for standardization and interoperability of e-health, legislative and institutional framework of standardization in the field of e-health and related processes, experience and recommendations.

Session E: Public Health Support – WHO
Biennial Collaborative Agreement between the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic and the Regional Office for Europe of the World Health Organization for years 2012-2013 contains Priority 5: Health Information, Evidence, Research and Innovation. Enhanced analytical products for planning, monitoring and evaluation of health situation and inequalities in support of decision making and reform processes responding to the health needs were planned to be introduced. At present, WHO interactive atlas of health inequalities is being adopted by Institute for Health Information Systems (IHIS). Both, representatives of WHO and IHIS will present their experience with WHO interactive atlas of health inequalities as well as the view of its future deployment in the Czech Republic. National Medical Library (NML) will present its on-line health care and medical data availability.
