Optional Tours

The following optional tours are offered by Inserimex Travel, a local travel agency in Hanoi. This travel agency will have a table at the Press Club to help the participants with these tours and to sell trip tickets.

I/ CLASSIC TOURS

 

OPT 1: Half day Hanoi city tour (-/L/-)

Please choose one of below tours for half day Hanoi city tour

A: Morning tour

08.00: Pick up at hotel. Transfer to visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Museum (close on every Monday and Friday. If these places closed, we can visit outside of the Mausoleum & Museum) where Ho Chi Minh lies in state and the government building & One Pillar Pagoda, continue to visit Temple of Literature – the first university of Vietnam and Hoa Lo prison (former named Hilton prison).

12.00: lunch at Vietnamese restaurant. Back to hotel at 13.30. End of tour.

B: Afternoon tour

11.30: Pick up at hotel, transfer to Vietnamese restaurant for lunch.

Transfer to visit Hoan Kiem lake and Ngoc Son Temple; enjoy 01 hour cyclo ride around Hanoi Old Quarter – the area is in general famous for its small artisans and merchants, including many shop. Visit Tran Quoc pagoda and Quan Thanh temple.

17.00: Transfer back to hotel. End of tour.

 

OPT 2: Full day Hanoi city tour (-/L/-)

AM: 08.00 Pick up at hotel. Transfer to visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Museum (close on every Monday and Friday. Lunch at restaurant.

PM: Visit Ethnology Museum – a valuable centre for the exhibition and the preservation of culture heritages of the 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam. Transfer to visit Hoan Kiem lake and Ngoc Son Temple; enjoy 01 hour cyclo ride around Hanoi Old Quarter – the original streets layout and architecture of the old Hanoi.
In the evening, attend the performance of the famous Vietnamese traditional art of Water Puppet Show at theatre. Transfer back to hotel. End of tour.

 

OPT 3: Hanoi – Ha Long Bay – Hanoi ( Full day) (-/L/-)

Halong Bay, or "Bay of the Landing Dragon" is one of UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites. Here, among approximately 1,500 spuare miles of water, sprout numerous limestone islets and odd-shaped rock sculptures.

08.00 pick up at hotel in Hanoi, drive to Halong. Get on the junk and sail to the bay to discover Ha Long Bay with Thien Cung Grotto – perhaps the most beautiful grotto in Ha Long Bay. The multiform stalactites and stalagmites in the grotto have attracted thousand of tourists. The grotto is about 15m above the sea level.

After Thien Cung grotto is Dau Go cave – is found on Driftwood Island, formerly known as Canh Doc island. The name Driftwood grotto comes from the popular story of resistance war against the Nguyen Mong aggressors. In a decisive battle, General Tran Hung Dao was given an order to prepare many iron wood stakes to be planted on the river-bed of Bach Dang River. The remaining wooden pieces were found in the grotto and, as a result, the grotto was given its present name.

Seafood lunch on boat.

Back to the dock and return to Hanoi. Drop off at hotel. End of tour.

 

OPT 4: Hanoi – Bat Trang – Hanoi ( Half day) (-/L/-)

The Bat Trang pottery village, a 500 years old village ,is one of the most famous of craft village in Vietnam.

Haft day visit to the famous pottery village of Bat Trang, situated among fertile farm land, approx 10km outside of Hanoi – on the left bank of the Red River. Watch the villagers, as they form. Paint and glaze their products, which are then baked for several days in huge furnace.

Back to the city for lunch at restaurant. Drop off at hotel. End of tour.

 

OPT 5: Hanoi – Dong Ho – Hanoi ( Half day) (-/L/-)

Dong Ho, a familiar village’s name which locates on the riverside of Duong River, belong to Thuan Thanh district in Bac Ninh province – has become into metal life of each Vietnamese long time a go by its popular paintings. Dong Ho painting is not created by artistic inspiration but printing by plank.

AM: Pick up at hotel and transfer to Dong Ho village which is 50 km far away from Hanoi, you will see how the traditional paintings are made and you may try to make a copy for you. The paper use for painting is produced by the villagers, the materials to make that paper is bamboo tree.

Back to Hanoi for lunch. Drop off at hotel End of tour.

 

OPT 6: Hanoi – Tam Coc – Hanoi ( Full day) (-/L/-)

AM: pick up at hotel. Transfer to Tam Coc.

Visit Tam Coc means three caves, which take a bout two hours driving from Hanoi (110 km) to the South. Tam Coc is also called "Ha Long bay on land". Take the rattan boat to go through the rice field and three cave on the river, all created by wind and water from the legend time, while the sea had occupied this area. Sometimes you may see mischievous monkey if you are lucky.

Lunch at local restaurant.

PM: Visit Dinh Le temple where were the first capital of Vietnam.

Transfer back to Hanoi. Drop off at hotel. End of tour.

 

OPT 7: Hanoi – Ha Long Bay – Hanoi/ 2 days/1night-O/N on Junk (B/L/D)

Halong Bay, or "Bay of the Landing Dragon" is one of UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites. Here, among approximately 1,500 spuare miles of water, sprout numerous limestone islets and odd-shaped rock sculptures.

Day 1: 08.30 pick up at hotel and transfer to Ha Long Bay. Arrive Ha Long at around 12.00. Get on the escort boat and sail to the bay. Fresh seafood lunch is served on board. Visit the Sung Sot dry cave (Suprising cave), Titop island and swimming on the beach.
Seafood dinner is served on boat. Overnight on boat

Day 2: Sunrise breakfast at around 07.30. Sail through Bai Tu Long bay for sighseeing. 11.00 having lunch on boat while transfer back to the wharf. 12.00 arrive to the wharf. Transfer back to Hanoi. Arrive to Hanoi at around 16.30, transfer back to hotel. End of tour.

 

OPT 8: Hanoi – Sapa – Hanoi / 4 days-3nights (B/L/D)

Sapa was built as a hill station during French colonial days to serve as a respite from stifling Hanoi summer. Weekends are still the biggest draw, as folks from the capital flock to Sapa for a glimpse of famed "Love Market", a trek to local hill tribe villages, or an ascent of Vietnam’s highest peak, Fansipan…

Day 1: 08.30 pick up at hotel and transfer to Hanoi Railway Station and take an overnight train to Lao Cai. Overnight on train.

Day 2: 05.30 arrive to Lao Cai Station. Pick up and transfer to Sapa. Breakfast at restaurant. Visit Tavan village and doscover the life style of minority ethnic people with steeply rice field. Transfer to Sapa and check in at hotel.
Lunch at restaurant.
In the afternoon, transfer to visit Cat Cat village. Dinner at restaurant and overnight at hotel in Sapa.

Day 3: Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to visit 01 minority ethnic’s local market. (It depend on the weekdays, such as: Bac Ha market on Sun, Coc ly market on Tue, Cao Son market on Wed, Can Cau market on Sat… except Friday). Lunch at local restaurant. Transfer back to Lao Cai, dinner at local restaurant and take an overnight train back to Hanoi.

Day 4: 05.30 arrive to Hanoi Station. Pick up and transfer to hotel. End of tour.

 

OPT 9: One way airport – hotel transfer with guide (-/-/-)

Arrival to Noi Bai airport, welcome and transfer to hotel.

II/ ECOTOURISM & SOFT ADVENTURE TOURS

 

OPT 10: Hanoi – Ha Long Bay kayaking – Hanoi ( Full day ) (-/L/-)

AM: 07.00 pick up at hotel and transfer to Ha Long Bay. Arrive Ha Long at 11.30. Get on the escort boat and sail to the bay. Enjoy kayaking to discover Luon cave and TiTop island.

Seafood lunch is served on boat.

PM: 17.00 back to the pier. Transfer back to Hanoi. Arrive to Hanoi at around 20.00, transfer back to hotel. End of tour.

 

OPT 11: Hanoi – Ha Long Bay kayaking – Hanoi (-/L/-)

Day 1: 08.30 pick up at hotel and transfer to Ha Long Bay. Arrive Ha Long at 11.30. Get on the escort boat and sail to the bay. Enjoy kayaking to discover caves and lagoons with beautiful stalactite and stalagmite.
Seafood lunch and dinner is served on boat. Overnight on boat.

Day 2: Sunrise breakfast. Continue paddling to discover more cave and lagoon or paddling through the floating village. Lunch is served on boat. 12.00 back to the harbor. Transfer back to Hanoi. Arrive to Hanoi at around 16.00, transfer back to hotel. End of tour.

 

OPT 12: Hanoi – Ninh Binh – Hanoi kayaking (Fullday/New tour) (-/L/-)

You reach to Ninh Binh – 100 km away from Hanoi. You have chance to discover caves and lagoons in the new destination called Trang An. This is called Dry Halong Bay with very beautiful caves and lagoons, clean and unspoil water. You have chance to see wild animal and birds in this area.

AM: 07.30 depart from your hotel in Hanoi to Trang An - Ninh Binh. Upon arrival to Trang An, get in the kayak and start exploring caves and grottoes. Back to the dock and having lunch at local restaurant.

PM: After lunch, continue paddling to visit the complex of unique caves. Our guide – well trained with John Gray Seacanoe will paddle with you to visit consecutive caves with very beautiful stalactites and stalagmites. Paddle back to the dock and return to Hanoi. Drop off at your hotel at around 06.30 pm. End of tour.

 

OPT 13: Hanoi – Ninh Binh – Hanoi kayaking (2 days/1night) (-/L/-)

Day 1: HANOI – NINH BINH

07.30 am: depart from your hotel in Hanoi to Trang An - Ninh Binh. Upon arrival to Trang An, get in the kayak and start exploring caves and grottoes. Back to the dock and having lunch at local restaurant. After lunch, transfer to the dock, getting in kayak and paddling to visit the complex of unique caves. Our guide – well trained with John Gray Seacanoe will paddle with you to visit several caves continuous with very beautiful stalactites and stalagmites.

Late afternoon: Paddle back to the dock and transfer to Van Long commune – the most flooded nature preserve in the Northern Delta of Vietnam. Upon arrival to Van Long, take a rattan boat tour for bird watching, you will have a chance to see the egret, langur – asia monkey… Return to the hotel for check in. Dinner and accommodation at hotel.

Day 2: NINH BINH – HANOI

Breakfast at hotel. Enjoy an ox-cart tour around the village to discover the life style in the countryside of Vietnam. Lunch at restaurant.

After having lunch, transfer to Kenh Ga (Cock Canal) and take a motor boat on the channel to visit Kenh Ga. Then return to the dock and transfer back to your hotel in Hanoi. End of tour.
